Inspired by C.S. Lewis’s book, The Four Loves, these concert etudes display virtuosity while melodiously exposing the contrasting characteristics of the different loves.
Along the style and difficulty of Chopin Preludes or Rachmaninoff Etudes-Tableaux, the Four Love Etudes employ a richly tonal harmonic palette with "elements of impressionism and romanticism reminiscent of Scriabin" (Clavier, April, 2001).
Movements: I. Storge (Affection), II. Philia (Friendship), III. Eros (Romance), and IV. Agape (Charity).
This premium Jabez Press edition is printed on acid-free, archival paper.
The soft white pages reduce eye strain, while the music is generously spaced to facilitate the most convenient page turns possible.
