Robert Nelson Dr. Robert Nelson is Professor of Composition and Music Theory at Moores School of Music in Houston, Texas. His expertise ranges from theatrical works to modern classical music styles. Having co-authored five books on music theory, as well as a stint in commercial jingle and film score composition, it comes as no surprise that Dr. Nelson's style continues to encompass so many well-written and entertaining works—a perfect fit for the JABEZ PRESS catalogue.

He began in-depth composition study with Robert Beadell at the University of Nebraska where he received both his bachelor's and master's of music degrees. Continuing his education, Dr. Nelson studied with Ingolf Dahl and Halsey Stevens at the University of Southern California, earning his Doctor of Musical Arts degree with a major in composition.

Dr. Nelson has both composed and arranged music for the Virtuosi of Houston, the Houston Bach Choir, the Monterey Bay Symphony, the Houston Boychoir, the HSPVA Madrigal Singers, the Bay Area Chorus, the Sons of Orpheus male chorus, the Chicago Chamber Brass, and the Paragon Brass Ensemble. He is currently the pianist for the American Pops Orchestra.
